The LCDVF truly is the best LCD VF going by far, definitely beats the crapola out of the Hoodman HoodLoup and IMO, also the Zacuto Z-finder.

Also, does anyone know when the company will release to USA dealers a revised LCDVF that will have a frame that fits the shorter but wider T2i/550D LCD panel perfectly?

Also, where can I get the red colored eyepiece, as all the LCDVFs I have seen online now in the USA are black colored. Maybe they had red-eyepiece in 2009 and now only handle the black ones?

Hi Becker. I'm so glad that the info in the review could help you out. I spent a long time doing research and decided to buy both and see which one I liked best. In the end I ended up selling the Zacuto, although that's not to say that's it is not an excellent product. I just found the LCDVF to suit my needs a little better.

I'm actually in Taiwan at the moment. I work here and get back to Seattle as often as I can. Our next trip 'home' won't be until June...It's going to be a long haul.

Hey Steve-- thanks so much for this review. I'm trying to decide between the two and this is really helpful. Also, I noticed we are both in Seattle. If you're still holding on to a few of these interested in selling, give me a shout-- contact info is at my site: http://ericbecker.me. Thx, Becker

It seems Tonis is changing distribution and the viewfinder is supposed to be more easily available beginning 2010 ;-)

That's too bad. Has Tonis stopped selling them already? There's been some talk of a Zacuto Z-Finder Jr. coming out, but I'm not sure when.

Only problem is that one can't buy the LCDVF anywhere. It's like the phantom of the 7D ;-) I've seen pictures of it though, but that's not good enough ;-)

Hi Pete,

Thanks for the words.

I completely agree with you. The LCDVF has permanently become part of my kit.

Bought my LCDVF a few months ago,
I honestly don'd go out without it..
I honestly can't see (pardon the pun) how you can shoot outdoors and try and focus with the standard LCD screen... And I wear reading glasses !!
